Hi,
I bought a HP Pavillion eh1000 in late January/early feb, and it had been working amazingly. Last week, I went to open it, and the hinge clicked. I pushed the cover back onto it, and it clicked confirming it was back in place, as it isnt affecting the screen, and tried to shut it, but it clicked again and had moved.
Any ideas/suggestions?

I suggest that you start a warranty repair case as soon as humanly possible.
Do not open or close the laptop until you are able to contact HP and get more information on a warranty repair and start a case!!!

HP have told me that because the screen (black frame around the screen) comes away from the laptop because of the broken hinge, they are making me pay for the repair, even though I havent done anything to the laptop. Is this right?

Statistically, compared to the number of 2 in 1 and x360 laptops sold, broken hinges have a very low incidence rate.
I am fortunate that the various x360 laptops I have had as product loans from HP and those I have owned have never had that fault.
If one did, I would relace the hinges and/or broken or damaged enclosure parts on my own.
You can have it repaired by a business offering that service, if you do not have the ability or time to do it yourself.
Shopping around and getting recommendations from friends can save you some $$.
