Hi. My notebook is running very slow. I've checked everything is fine. So I was wondering if hardware upgradation should help. Would installing ssd help? If yes, kindly suggest which one. If no, what else could I try?

If this slowness is something that just happened, then it might be a virus or malware. Have look at this
It could be a failing hard drive, as they can cause that symptom, too. Run the diagnostics to find out.
To run the Diagnostics routine, start tapping the Esc key and then press the start button.
Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Diagnostics from that popup menu, F2.
Report back with the results.
If all of that testing reveals any bad results, fix those. If the hard drive is at fault, now is the time to replace it with a SATA SSD. Much improvement in speed will be noticed.
I'm not an HP employee.
