OMEN by HP 875-1000 Obelisk Desktop PC (5MU99AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

What is the largest internal SATA hard drive supported by the OMEN HP 875-1000 series with the latest BIOS update applied? I cannot find any documentation related to this. Also does the BIOS support SATA 600 drives?

Hi

Windows 11 has astronomical storage capacity limits (exabytes or zettabytes). You will not find a drive that exceeds the limits.

Go with a SATA SSD for faster I/O unless you can't find a SATA SSD at the disk capacity you need.

Check this site for details: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-server/backup-and-storage/support-for-hard-di...

The PC needs to have a UEFI BIOS (it appears your PC qualifies) and your PC must use GPT instead of MBR. https://www.howtogeek.com/193669/whats-the-difference-between-gpt-and-mbr-when-partitioning-a-drive/

Thanks for the reply. I am already booting off a 1 TB SSD. I am wanting to replace a 6 TB secondary HDD that is failing. I want to purchase something in the 14 to 18 TB range. I remember BIOS in earlier PC's limited the size of the detected devices, but I am guessing this is no longer a constraining factor with the UEFI BIOS. Good to know. Thanks again
