Hp touchsmart 610-1160
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I need your help.I have a touchsmart 610-1160 and recently my left button mouse began failing. I would like to replace it but the problem is that there is on the back a dedicated port for the receiver and this receiver is for the keyboard and mouse.

My keyboard works ok.So my question is Can I connect a mouse with his receiver on the common usb ports and mantain the receiver of the back for the keyboard? Or I have to change both things? The problem is that I couldnt find the same keyboard and mouse in the market so If I change both things i can connect in the back or I have to connect to a usb?

I will be very grateful if you help me many thanks.

Edith

You have a few options:

1. Buy a new mouse, and connect it to any available USB port on your computer.

2. If your computer supports the BlueTooth communications protocol, buy a new mouse that communicates via BlueTooth.

3. Remove the USB receiver, and buy a brand-new keyboard/mouse/receiver, and use them.
