Hi I have a very old Legacy PC that I want to improve so I can game on it . I'm wondering if this computer is able to be altered and if so, what parts are compatible with it. I'm mostly looking for a new graphics card but if other parts need upgrading so that I could run games better I'm open. Suggestions on GPUs?

@Phochristine , welcome to the forum.

What is the Product Number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. You can find the Product Number at the bottom of the page when you open HP Support Assistant.

Thank you for the additional information, @Phochristine!

Here is the Product Specifications page for the workstation (HP Z210 CMT Workstation😞 https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-z210-convertible-minitower-workstation/5053199/model/5053201...

Also, here is the Maintenance and Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02787107

The Product Specifications has a list of the compatible components that could have been purchased when the computer was new.  It will help you determine which components will work.  The first thing that you have to determine is does the motherboard have UEFI: https://www.howtogeek.com/56958/HTG-EXPLAINS-HOW-UEFI-WILL-REPLACE-THE-BIOS/

HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  So, I don't know if you have it.  If not, you are limited to the type of video card that you can use.  The last series of cards not to require UEFI are the GTX 660/670.

The Maintenance and Service Guide gives you all of the information on how to upgrade the workstation from disassembling it to installing the components.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
