I have HP compaq 8200 Elite CMT, but it doesn't have a GPU card and I need help with finding something in the 2GB range.  I am open to any suggestions available.

@Hendu069,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Your HP Compaq 8200 Elite CMT is fitted with a 320-watt power supply with p/n: 613764-001 or 613765-001: please verify.

With a 320-watt power supply, amongst the most popular/most affordable 2GB graphics card are the GT 1030 2GB, RX 550, and the GTX 1050 -the latter being the best pick. You could choose one of these new, or used: take a look in eBay, from a trusted eBay Seller (one with a high positive approval rating).

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

My PC has the original 240 Watt power supply, and the RAM is 12 GB ,  with 2TB HDD.

Is there a GPU card that can be used, without changing out the power supply ?

@Hendu069,

The specs for your CMT suggested a 320-watt power supply. Nevertheless, a 240-watt PSU should be fine for a GT 1030 or an RX 550, and likely also for a GTX 1050.

Thank for all the useful information,

.  I saw a AMD Radeon R7 430 GDDR 2GB ,  and the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 GDDR 2GB. I am  partial to AMD's side, but I  don't know how good the latter is though.

on the minitower model of the 8200 elite it's possible to replace the HP pwr supply with a normal ATX supply and then use a ATX to HP 8200 elite power supply adapter

doing this conversion will allow you to use a nvidia 1080/2080 TI  card in your 8200 minitower anything faster is going to be expensive and a poor match for your existing cpu series so stay with the older series video cards

Hi, @Hendu069

I have two HP 8200 Elite CMT's and they both have 320W power supplies.

I don't understand why yours only has a 240W P/S as those were only offered in the SFF models.

See page 4 of the HP Quickspecs at the link below:

The other one is running a Dell OEM AMD Radeon R7 450 4 GB graphics card that has a fan.

The used Radeons are very affordable as you can see from these listings.

Hello Paul.  I took a photo of of the power supply label.  I'm thinking it's an earlier model, before HP decided to change to the 320 Watt  power supply.
