HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-4000i (6V9A5AV)

My current GPU is the NVIDIA GTX 1050 ti that I added to my PC and its performance is less-than mediocre. I want to find a new graphics card with smoother/higher quality to install for a much better gaming experience.

What GPU should I get? And if necessary, what power supply should I get to upgrade?

Thank you.

Hi @Ranch22

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Upgrading from the NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti can significantly enhance your gaming experience. Here are some recommendations for GPUs and associated power supply considerations:

Recommended GPUs

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060:

  • Good performance for 1080p and decent 1440p gaming.
  • Ray tracing support for newer titles.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti:

  • A bit more powerful than the 3060, great for 1440p gaming.
  • Better performance in ray tracing and DLSS.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070:

  • Excellent performance for 1440p gaming and solid for 4K with some settings adjusted.
  • Great for future-proofing your setup.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT:

  • Strong competitor to the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070.
  • Good for 1440p gaming with high settings.

Power Supply Considerations

Wattage: Ensure your power supply (PSU) has enough wattage to support your new GPU. Here's a general guideline:

  • RTX 3060: 550W minimum recommended.
  • RTX 3060 Ti: 600W minimum recommended.
  • RTX 3070: 650W minimum recommended.
  • RX 6700 XT: 650W minimum recommended.

Quality: Look for a reputable brand (e.g., Corsair, EVGA, Seasonic) with an 80 Plus Bronze certification or higher for efficiency and reliability.

Other Considerations

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
