HP updated the BIOS on my desktop model 24-df0096 last night and My computer says “BIOS update failed”. And the computer will not start.

I tried everything. Hold down the Windows button and the "b" key while you turn on the computer. This started a "retrieve the old BIOS" wonderfully looking program that finally ended with the same error message repeating itself. Going to the trash bin now. What a mess!

I have a similar issue where HP asked to reboot while I was working so it could update the BIOS, I said yes and then the workstation went black for about a minute. Then said "BIOS update failed press enter to continue" and then restarts to the same menu. I have the same model 24-df0096 and HP does not publish a BIOS file for this model that I can download. If you know where the file is please let me know, I need this PC working soon.

Yes, you have the same problem. The BIOS update was not compatible with my Windows 11. My computer came with Windows 10 installed. Amazon said it came with Windows 11. It did not. HP shows that this computer is not supposed to be upgraded to Windows 11. I read that someplace. I installed Windows 11 but it was slow. Then, this BIOS update was expecting Windows 10. That is what happened to me. I am on my backup HP ENVY now.

i have the same problem. Is there a resolve for this? HP doesn't have any drivers or bios updates on their site. Almost like they're trying to hide the problem.

Any and all help would greatly be appreciated
