Hello,   I have a Phoenix 850-150qe CTO  Desktop with a MSI Kaili2 motherboard.  Is ther a slot on this motherboard for a Samsing NVMe M.2 drive.   I don't see one, but I would like to make sure.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi lm-ecc

You are right.

This motherboard does not have a PCIe 3x4 M.2 slot.

Hi,

The Kaili2 motherboard does have a m.2 SSD slot.

Hi

I apologize for the mistake.

I was relying on the information provided by HP found here.

Look at Expansion Slots.

It is as follows:

  • One PCI Express x16 (Gen 3.0)
  • One PCI Express x1 (Gen 2.0)
  • One PCI Express half-length mini card socket

Thanks again.   I do see the m-SATA socket, however I was looking to install an M.2 drive.  I was looking for a M.2 socket.  The drive I am trying to install is the Samsing NVMe M.2 drive.  From what I know m-SATA is not compoatible with M.2 drives.

@lm-ecc

The marked m.2 socket should work with a m.2 SATA SSD.
