Z2 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

What M.2 SSD's are compatible with the Z2 G4 Tower?

I don't see any mention of them in the Service & Maintenance Manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06099795).
The Technical Whitepaper (https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA7-2219ENW.pdf) says "two M.2 slots on the system board can accommodate M.2 modules up to the 2280 form factor" & "Two M.2 slots are also available at PCIe 3.0 speeds"

The QuickSpecs (https://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/getpdf.aspx/c05987463.pdf) mention:

"M.2 storage (PCIe Gen3 x4)*

* M.2 storage supports compatible devices up to 110mm "

Not sure whether this is a SATA or NVMe connection type? What "keyed" version of M.2 is it?

Thanks

@mark01010 , welcome to the forum.

Here are the SSD's that Crucial Memory recommends for your workstation.  Crucial is the retail division for Micron.  This will give you an idea of what you need to buy. Also, here is a good article on the difference between the keys of a SSD.

Thanks. Still curious what the type of keying (B/M/B+M) is supported by the motherboard socket?

You are welcome, @mark01010!

Here is the memory and SSD's that Crucial Memory recommends for your workstation.   If you look at the M.2, SSD's, they are Key M.
