I'm trying to install a drive into the M.2 slot. The install video shows the drive secured in a heat sink before being installed. Where do I find a heat sink for this drive or is it even necessary

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You can buy M.2 heatsinks on Amazon or Newegg.

Stress the drive after installation. NVME drives usually throttle around 70 degrees C.

No need to get a heatsink if your temps are below the throttle temp.

I have NVME drives that hit about 52 degrees C when running CrystalDiskMark.
