Hello,

I am looking to replace the 1TB 7200rpm hard drive in my wife's AIO HP as she finds the spin-up noise annoying. I was hoping to also improve on it's slow performance, however I cannot find specifics on the M.2 port past these system spec sheets:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06001589?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0002

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05928163 "One M.2 socket 3, 2280 type for SSD"

I recently put in a second DIM of memory and noticed that the M.2 slot is "M" keyed which I think suggests it is NVMe. Can anyone else who has performed this upgrade confirm that it is NVMe rather than SATA ? Also which drives did you have luck with? I found an older thread that suggests only using HP parts has been necessary in the past. I hope that is not still the case with this model and BIOS..

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes, it is for M.2 NVMe SSD. The following machine (which is a sister of yours) has dual storage option

You can use standard M.2 NVMe SSD's but it is highly recommended (from members)
