I have a new Z2 G4 desktop with a 512 Gb Z Turbo Drive in one of the M.2 slots (shown as Slot 6 in the Performance Advisor) as the system drive. A cd-rom drive in the 4th SATA connector is the only other storage device. One of the 16x PCIe slots (shown as Slot 1) is occupied with a NVIDIA Quadro P1000 video card. The other PCIe slots are empty.
I'd like to add a Seagate FireCuda 510 SSD in the second M.2 slot as a data drive. LIke the Z Turbo Drive, the FireCuda is a PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSD. The Performance Advisor shows the second M.2 port as Slot 7 and indicates that it's available. But when I install the FireCuda card, the system doesn't boot. The HP Sure Start screen comes up, but nothing else happens.
I can't find information on adding drives in the online manuals for this machine. I'm guessing I need to disable Sure Start and make some bios adjustments, but can't find information on how to do that.
Would appreciate any insights as to how to make this change.
I also plan to add a regular 3.5" SATA hard drive as internal backup, but wanted to get the M.2 card working first (in case I have to use a 2.5" SSD as my data drive instead of the M.2 card).

Figured this out.
Used the Bios settings portion of Performance Advisor to change the Secure Boot Configuration to Legacy Enable and Sure Start Disable, rebooted, installed the FireCuda card (cussing the people who thought a tiny screw for the anchor was a good idea), started it up, used File Explorer to set up the new drive, reset the Boot Configuration to enable Sure Start, rebooted and all is well.
On to the SATA installations, but I don't foresee problems there.
