Pavilion P6505F
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Wanted to find out/confirm the max amount of RAM for this PC when it has Windows 7 64-bit installed on it.  I know that it has a limit of 4GB under a 32-bit OS, but a 64-bit was not specified.  My experience is that it is usually higher but is usually speciifed in tech docs.  For this model, no such specs seem to exist.  I want to do a RAM upgrade so any help would be nice.  Thanks.

Hi:

I see what you mean.   Max is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) according to HPs specs.

I would run the free Crucial memory scan tool, and see what it reports.

Not the answer I wanted but the one I needed.  Apparently this model shipped with 2GB with a max of 4GB installable.  Thanks for the assist.

You're very welcome.

Probably the nvidia nForce 430 chipset motherboards with 4 memory slots could take 8 GB of memory.

Max must be 2 GB per slot.
