I have an HP Pavilion 590-p0xxx with Sunflower moterboard . The +5 power supply to the HDD is supplied from the motherboard via a inbuild DC-DC converter (+12v -> +5v) What's its max power? Is its power sufficient to power 2 HDDs that consume +5v of 0.9 A each (1.8 amper at summ).

No problem. The motherboard supports 3 SATA devices.

I know, Sunflower motherboard support 3 SATA device. But SATA drive is very different by power. Example typical power on +5v bus for:
HDD (WD Purple WD121PURZ — 0,4 A; Seagate Exos X16 — 0.9 A)
SSD (CWD Green WDS120G2G0A 120GB -1.0 A; PLEXTOR LiteOn MU 3 PH6-CE120 120GB,-2.0 A)
CD 1.0-2.0 A (DVD-RW LG GTC0N — 1.8 A)
And summary power for +5v bus(SATA) max up to 5-6 amper. 5V x 6 A = 30 Watt, 30 watt is real power for DC-DC convertor or maximum power is limited to a lower value?

What does the label on the PSU state? It should list all the volts / amps.

This is standart PSU 180W part number L08261-022. This PSU have one output line +12V and power this line 14.88 A (see photo). This PSU line have two connectors: 1st — power for CPU, 2nd-power other circuit. On the motherbord there DC-DC comvertor which the make +5V from +12V. SATA power connector connect to the motherboard which is taken +5V and +12V for SATA. +12V direct from PSU, +5V from DC-DC. Direct SATA power connectior from PSUdoes not exist. Therefore, I wonder what the power of the DC-DC converter +5V?
