Hi
Wondering if someone could help I have a HP computer that was given to me that had a lot of the wiring detached and very filthy after disassembling the desktop and cleaning everything i can't seem to find where the long white connector from the front panel audio goes to.
Does anyone have a picture where all the wiring goes to please.

The only link I could find is this one...
HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, P5LP-LE (Lithium) | HP® Customer Support
The schematic drawing shows one audio connector on the lower left, but that would not accommodate the connector you have referred to.
However, if you look at the actual motherboard picture, there does appear to be a connector that may be the right one, which I have circled in red.
Hello
it is curious the models are close, but if we look at the rear connectors, it would be more this model, without the parallel port
but if we take a closer look there are no connectors there
https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c00864946
One 9-pin audio header for headphone-out and microphone-in (yellow, Vista capable, requires matching front audio jack module)
here it is written yellow ??
and another one
One 9-pin header for power button, reset button, power LED, and HDD LED
but according to that we should not be mistaken!
[edit]
I have a doubt, the case and the motherboard correspond well, there has not been a change of one and the other?
[edit]
nothing concrete but research shows that the audio front panel would not have a single connector, but several, for example 3x 9-Pin
that said I don't think I have the right one, but it would be like this, you can check, confirm or not *
edit
watch this model equipped with a tv card
wouldn't it be the connectors
Audio L-R: 1
S-video in: 1
Composite video in: 1
to be connected to the tv card, there is a possible location here

Thanks
It seems that the TV card may have been removed and never put back, will just leave the wiring as is.
I'm only cleaning it up and making sure everything works and then giving it away to someone who can't afford a computer for their child to play and learn on 🙂
