I bought PC3200 GSkill memory. It is only running at 2133MHz after upgrade. After digging around, it appears that HP won't let you enable XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) in the BIOS which is required for any RAM that isn't running in "Safe mode".
However, I can't actually find any specs on what my desktop will support because the "product information page" for it doesn't include motherboard specs and allowed memory specs so I don't really know what I can buy. Any help here would be appreciated:
Here is the RAM that I tried to run in it but is downgraded to the base FSB speed of 2133:
The HP literature claims it is easy to upgrade, but IMO, they lie about their upgradability. This severely limits that RAM that you can buy.

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for that model...the parts list indicate that it has a Rother motherboard.

Here is the link to the Rother motherboard info...

Why the memory would downclock to 2133 MHz is beyond me.
It should be running at 2666 Mhz.

Thank you, that helped a lot. Using that, I found this: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/133284/intel-h370-chipset.html
However, I'm still baffled about which specific memory this supports given HP's restrictions. There seem to be a lot of variations in voltages and timings within a given frequency.

You're very welcome.
When in doubt, you may want to go with what Crucial recommends.
I would go for the standard 2666 Mhz 16 chip (the green ones), not the high performance one.

I still don't get the huge stepdown from the 3200 MHz memory module.
I would have lost a bet that it would have gone to 2666 MHz.
Someone had the same issue with a notebook too.
They put PC-3200 memory in it with a 10th gen Intel processor that can run the memory at 3200 MHz, and the thing downclocked to 2133 MHz!!!???
