I have an HP Envy desktop, Intel core i7-7700U, Windows 10, 16gb RAM, 2TB HD that I purchased in late 2017. I want to upgrade the memory. There are two card slots, currently filled by two 8gb cards. Can I upgrade this to 32? 64? If so, what type of cards would I look for? The current cards have the following label: 1Rx8 PC4-2400T-UA2-11 M378A1K43CB2 CRC 1728.
Thanks for your help.

Hi:
According to the Crucial memory report your PC can support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.
Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 UDIMM | CT2K16G4DFD824A | Crucial.com
HP indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB.

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can actually support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
I have a Dell Optiplex 7050 MT business desktop PC.
It has 4 memory slots and supports 4 x 16 GB of memory.
I have 48 GB installed.
