I have just purchased the HP Envy 34-inch all-in-one pc which currently has 16 gb of RAM. HP indicates it can be upgraded. The RAM that is in there are two DDR5 8gb SODIMM 4800. I have purchased two DDR5 32gb 4800 SODIMM's of the same spec. When I install them, an old-style message comes on the screen saying they are not compatible, but all specs of the replacement are the same. There are four slots for the RAM, if I use the ones that have the 8gb in them I get the message, if I use the other slots, I just get beeping and no message.
Hopefully, someone may know the fix.

Hi @Globetrotter448,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you want to upgrade your Memory.
It sounds like you're experiencing compatibility issues when trying to upgrade the RAM on your HP ENVY 34-inch All-In-One Desktop PC. Even though the new RAM sticks you purchased are of the same DDR5 type and speed (32GB 4800 SODIMM), there might be a different specification causing the compatibility problem.
Here are a few things you might want to check or consider:
BIOS Update: Ensure your PC's BIOS is up-to-date. Sometimes, a BIOS update can add support for newer memory modules. Click here
Mixing RAM: If you're mixing different brands or module densities, it could cause compatibility issues. Try using only the new 32GB sticks or ensure they are from the same brand and have identical specifications.
Slot Issues: Confirm that the new RAM sticks are properly seated in the slots. Sometimes, improper installation can cause the system to not recognize the memory.
Compatibility Check: Although the specs match, there might be specific compatibility issues with your system that aren't immediately apparent. You might want to contact HP support or check their official documentation to verify if there are any limitations or specific requirements for RAM upgrades.
Always ensure that you're handling the RAM modules carefully and that they are compatible with your system before installation.
If you're uncertain, seek help from HP's phone support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

HI Elohi_NR, checked my system and it is Windows 11 update 23H2 with the BIOS as F.16. but it still will not accept my RAM. The link in your text does not cover this update. I am only using the new RAM (ADATA DDR5 4800) and not mixing it with the original modules. I have tried a single module but still does not work. The original modules are in DIMM1 (ch A) and DIMM 1 (ch B) slots. If I put modules in DIMM 0 (ch A) and DIMM 0 (ch B) slots the PC just beeps and no message.
The fault with ADATA SODIMM modules is a text message saying incompatible which should not be the case.

What a Bummer. HP closed my open case without fixing the problem. It seems that HP cannot be bothered if you have a technical problem that they have problem-solving. It goes in the too-hard basket, and they close the case without notifying the person logging the problem.
How do you get an existing case reopened?
My recommendation of HP products is no longer viable, and I will let people know that there is no Customer Service.
