HP Envy Desktop - 750-114
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In built memory card reader. Does not read SD card. Does not make any noise when card is placed on input. Installed Realtek USB Memory Card reader driver, however, input is memory card not usb so unsure if this would do anything (it hasn't seemed to). Do not know what other drivers to install. Do not know the names of the relevant drivers in device manager. Looked around online found nothing helpful.

Would be grateful to know at least the names of the drivers I need installed.

Thank you.

@jonas376

Check in Device Manager for any "yellow or red" flagged indicators. And yes, the card reader is a USB device.

Not all computers have a built-in SD reader, so I have this portable reader,

Thank you for your reply. There is a physical slot for an SD card. What are the names of the drivers I would need to install to get it to work?

I do not see any red or yellow indicators in device manager.

Under Human Interface Device - There are two HID-compliant consumer control device, one HID-compliant system controller, and four USB input device

Under Universal Serial Bus controllers - one Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller = 1.0 (Microsoft), one Logitech USB Camera, two USB Composite Device, and one USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)

Trying to pin down which one would it be or which one I am missing.

Also, I installed the Realtek driver yet I do not see it in the device manager. Should it show up there?

Again, any info would be appreciated.

@jonas376,

The card reader I mentioned plugs into a USB3.0 compliant port. No driver upload needed. I offer it as a workaround.

Appreciate the workaround. I am a little baffled that I cannot seem to find any more info on this issue anywhere. Any ideas where I should go take a look?
