Is this normal? When there are 2 x 8GB memory modules, the memory runs at 1333 MHz but with 4 x 8GB, the speed is only 1200 MHz. Both brands are 1333 MHz when 2 x8GB. And 1200 when four, as shown and the opposite.
The specs are the same (both 1Rx8GB, 2666 MHz, CL19, but Samsung has 8 memory chips and Transcend has 4 chips.
Is this correct or should I place both of one brand in each channel, so Samsung, Samsung. Transcend, Transcend?
CPU-z CPU speed tests did get 1% slower, but perhaps that could be due to different background programs running.
Disappointing because I didn't expect that. Even though I'll never notice the difference, I will know that it's slower.
