Hello. I recently purchased a new RAM stick and just put it in(the one all the way to the right) Will everything run okay the way it is or should I switch them around? There's 4 spots for RAM sticks; the one all the way to the right is a new 8gb that i just put in, the one to the left of that is a factory 8gb stick, an empty slot, then a 4gb factory stick, then another empty slot. Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi:

The memory slots are color coded.

You put the same capacity memory in the same colored slot.

So, you either put the 2 x 8 GB of memory in the black slots or the blue slots.

The 4 GB chip is the odd man out and you should either max out the memory with another 2 x 8 GB or buy another 4 GB memory chip and add it into the empty slot so the memory runs in dual channel mode.

Right now, that single 4 GB memory module is causing your PC's entire memory configuration to run in the lower performing single channel mode.
