My PC has a Pegatron IPISB-CH2 Chicago motherboard and I want to increase the amount of memory in my PC to 16gb. It currently has 6gb fitted using 2 modules (1x4gb & 1x2gb). It currently runs Windows 10 with the 21h1 update. Can I fit 2 X 8gb memory modules or do I have to use 4 X 4gb modules? The manual suggests the latter but I was wondering why 2 X 8gb couldn't be used. Thank you in advance for your reply.

hi
So you read this:
- Dual channel memory architecture (also supports single channel)
- Four 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets
- Supports the following:
- PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)
- PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
- Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
- Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB DIMMs
- Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit* systems
- Supports up to 16 GB on 64-bit systems
note:32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory
try the crucial scan here

I have a doubt, because you have four slots, so if the max is 16gb, and you can only use 4gb max, indeed 4x4
but it is possible that you can install 32gb, in this case 8gb per slot
It may be possible to install 2 * 8gb, with a max of 16gb
in this case using the other two slots should not work
check what the difference can be for 4go modules (x4)
and for 8 GB modules
if not, take the most advantageous, if there is a difference, if it does not work the resellers do not make problems for the exchange if it does not work in general
