@Cracon,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

I assume you mean that your PC only reads 8GB out of 16GB of your installed RAM memory.

According to HP Pavilion 23-g109c All-in-One Desktop PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support and HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications (Lavender-U) | HP® Customer Support, your HP Pavilion 23-g109c All-in-One Desktop PC can be fitted with up to 2 x 8GB of DDR3 (DDR3L) PC3-12800 1600 MHz, CL=11, Non-EEC, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 204-pin RAM.

It may be that the RAM you installed from another PC may not meet the requirements of your AIO PC.  Please provide the brand/model or part number(s) of the RAM sticks.

I would recommend to power-off your PC, remove the RAM, clean out the RAM slots with compressed (canned) air, and gently snap one of the two 8GB RAM sticks in.  Turn your PC on and see if that RAM works.  Repeat with the other RAM stick.

If both RAM sticks work, try again with both sticks.

Here is one example of RAM sticks that almost certainly would work well in your PC: Samsung 16GB (2 x 8GB) 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3L-12800, 1600MHz ram Memory Module for laptops (M471B1G73EB0-YK0 x 2), as seen here: Samsung 16GB (2 x 8GB) 204-pin SODIMM, DDR3 PC3L-12800, 1600MHz ram Memory Module for laptops (M471B....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

The ram that I got was Komputerbay memory stay away from this crap, I tried the 8 GB stick in 2 different laptops they both read as being 4gb. Not even sure of the reliability of the ram itself no doubt it will cause me problems in the future.

So heads-up and stay away from this brand,thanks for your help
