Hi @Bianco2002,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like there might be a compatibility issue between the GPU and the HP Slimline Desktop 450-103nl after the BIOS update. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check the GPU Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the GPU you are trying to install is compatible with your motherboard and power supply. Some GPUs require more power than the Slimline's power supply can provide.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure all other system drivers are up to date. Sometimes, an outdated driver can cause conflicts.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS setup when the computer boots without the GPU. Check for any settings related to graphics or PCI-E slots. Ensure that the primary display is set to PCI-E if that option is available.

Reset CMOS:

  • Sometimes, resetting the CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) can resolve hardware compatibility issues. You can do this by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinstalling it. Alternatively, there might be a CMOS reset jumper on the motherboard.

Test the GPU in Another System:

  • If possible, test the GPU in another computer to ensure it is functioning correctly.

Check Power Supply:

  • Verify that your power supply unit (PSU) can handle the additional power draw of the GPU. The Slimline desktops often come with lower wattage PSUs, which may not be sufficient for more power-hungry GPUs.

Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Bianco2002,

Please find the next set of steps below.

Update the GPU Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your GPU. Some GPU manufacturers release firmware updates that can improve compatibility with certain systems.

Reinstall the GPU:

  • Make sure the GPU is properly seated in the PCI-E slot and that all necessary power connectors are securely attached.

Try a Different PCI-E Slot:

  • If your motherboard has more than one PCI-E slot, try installing the GPU in a different slot.

Rollback BIOS Update:

  • If the problem started after the BIOS update, you might consider rolling back to the previous BIOS version if possible. Refer to HP's support documentation for instructions on how to do this safely.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might need to contact HP phone support for further assistance

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
