Hello
I am having an issue booting in my computer. Serval months ago I had an unresolved issue installing service pack 1. I tried installing service pack 1 by windows udate which failed and then going to microsoft and downloaded service pack 1 which aslo failed. Having tried this several times. For the last few months when I turn on the computer I get a message saying Failure configuring Service pack 1 Reverting changes. The computer restatrs and then reads preparing to configure windows. This happens on and off for about 45 minutes until I can get to desktop.
To make a long story short perhaps I can try to change a part in the tower or other wise inside the computer to resolve this issue. Thank you.

hello
For some odd reason when I turned the computer on today it started right up without it hanging for 45 minites. I shut down the computer and turned it on again 8 times and all 8 times it started. I am leaving it alone for now but if it happens again I'll take your advice. Sorry for any inconviniences.

@JrJerry, welcome back to the forum.
I suggest that you save all of your personal data and do a full System Recovery. This will take the computer back to its original configuration. There is a possibility that some of the drivers could be causing problems. Also, I am not certain what you can do to eliminate the problem caused by trying to update to SP 1.
Here is a guide from Microsoft that may help you solve your problem.
