Omen 30L GT13-1380z
Microsoft Windows 11

Thought I would make a separate post on this as a sort of PSA. I recently received my Omen 30L GT13-1380z desktop. Per the specs on the HP site, the mobo should have 3x M.2 slots. Well, appears that there are only 2 slots. The first is occupied by the NVME SSD that I configured the system with. The second is occupied by the WIFI card. The third does not exist! I spent hours on the phone with tech support, customer support, and sales teams trying to convey this error. I sent in photos of the mobo to the tech support team and no one had any idea what was going on.  The HP support site has no record of this product name, model number, or my S/N so finding a spec sheet with the mobo is impossible. Really unfortunate as it makes upgrading storage that much harder. Anyone else run across this or do I have some kind of defunct mobo?

see this manual
The slot can sometimes be hidden by the graphics card

Interesting, I think someone screwed up the Black Friday advertisement.  The generic spec  for the 30L shows only 2 M.2 with both filled.  On the other hand the exact spec  for your 1380Z ALONG WITH 4 OTHER clearly shows three of the M.2.

In similar situations the seller refunds the price and then discounts it as "refurbished" and you might be able to rebuy it at a substantial discount.

More likely, there is fine print that your have a customized system and customized can mean yours came with only two.

just check what I indicated
the page hp Configure your OMEN 30L Gaming Desktop PC GT13-1380z, shows that it is possible to have a second M2
i have already encountered this for several model, sometimes its just that the user, can not see the slot clearly, as i mentioned
This model seems too recent not referenced, so not the exact model of the motherboard, but it could be:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-30l-desktop-pc-gt13-1000a/2100404772/document/ish_4853259-...

Expansion slots
  • (1) PCI Express 4.0 x16 lanes

  • (1) PCI Express 3.0 x1 lanes

  • (1) M.2 socket 1, key A

  • (2) M.2 socket 3, key M (for SSD card PCIe x4 Gen 3)

It is clearly not where it says it should be. GPU is not hiding anything.

I bought this about a month ago. I have talked to every conceivable department. No one wants to deal with it.

I don't know if this is the right subject I'm looking for, but for example:

Looks like there are three M.2

The big one, is the with cover "ssd2" or ssdz not sure if that is m.2 or something else

A small one bottom right is 22-40 and the middle left is 22-80.  You can see the screws

It the "SSD2" m.2?
