I bought the above-named Monitor, and, when correct cables arrived from Amazon, plugged it into my laptop only to discover that it tilts too far forward, will not tilt back, does not rotate into portrait mode as advertised, and appears to be stuck in landscape mode. I have similar monitor at work--I think it is Dell--and I simply switch modes manually by pushing a lever. I see no lever and do not want to use brute force but am genuinely puzzled. I downloaded and installed monitor driver software after I found someone with similar problem who had received that advice but not sure how to proceed. I am not a computer whiz and will drive this back to Staples if solutions involve installing, reinstalling apps, software, etc. I am a plug-and-play person, not plug-and-puzzle over the problem. Recommendations would be appreciated. I hope this is the right board. By the way, this will probably be the last HP device I buy. I've never had such problems setting up a device.

Hello @Stoliczkae
Your specs show it will tilt -5 to +20.
Ive had this happen with new monitors, they are usually really stiff when new no matter what brand.
You have to use a little elbow grease on it.
Here are your monitor specs... https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06263740
It tells what it will tilt at under Ergonomics.
