@WithHaste,

Yes, your Omen 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx as fitted with a Dorado motherboard (SSID: 8704) is most certainly compatible with an RTX 4070, as you see with this User: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/65787639.

I would recommend a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4070 model powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 EVO OC Edition 12GB GDDR6X | Graphics Card | ASUS Global - Tech Specs.

The RTX 4070 manufacturers recommend a 650-watt power supply, and if your current power supply is less than that, say you got a 500-watt unit, one power supply upgrade option would be the Corsair RM650, as seen here. or the Cooler Master MWE650 as seen here.

If you don't want to upgrade your power supply, a 500-watt power supply can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4060 Ti model powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Hi @WithHaste

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Dual fan 4070s should work with your PC if it fits in the 25L case and you have the correct power supply.

Tech Powerup suggests a minimum 550 watt power supply when using an Nvidia reference card. I have a Asus dual fan 4070 which requires a minimum 650 watt power supply.

Please provide current HP power supply details. Some dual fan 4070 cards use a supplemental eight pin PCIe power supply connector instead of the Nvidia 16 pin adapter. I don't know if your case can deal with the 16 pin Nvidia adapter.

Many, if not all, 4070 cards span 2.5 MB slots. Check your MB for clearance. And, this graphics card may butt up against the power supply. This would limit airflow.

Regards
