OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0235se
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I have a OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0235se, that I bought in 2021, I think their may have been some issues due to a power outage. I was having ram issues where random tabs would die due to memory errors and eventually I started getting constant blue screens, after messing around with my ram configuration I have stability with only 1 ram in the 3 slot.AN example of an error I got was ntoskrnl.exe with error code 0xc0000221. BIOS Diagnostics also said the ram stick failed the test. I think its ram but I am also wondering if the power supply can be causing an issue with the ram.

Does anyone know if this is a psu/motherboard issue and where I can buy the oem replacement's or a similar model's that will fit the pc.

Most memory problems on a desktop system can be solved by good cleaning.

I am guessing your system is more than a few years old. You may have purchase additional memory and when you inserted the memory in you probably compacted a lot of dust that had accumulated in the socket over time.

You need to remove all the memory chips and clean the motherboard as best you can with an air duster. You should take some caution to avoid static discharge when removing the memory sticks.

On a desktop system, unplug computer. If the power cord has a transformer (wall wart) unplug from the computer. Press the power button 2-3 times to discharge residual electricity

On a laptop, remove cover plate to get access to the memory. If there is no cover plate then search YouTube for a disassembly video.

First blow out as much dust as you can before removing the memory. Once motherboard area is clean, then discharge static electricity by touching a finger to metal frame or case before removing memory sticks.

Clean the memory contacts with eraser, use air duster, reseat memory. Reseat one at a time if necessary to find the bad one.

When powering up the system, be sure to go into the BIOS setup and press F9 or whatever function key is the default. Disable any overclocking and set all speeds to auto.

Some desktop system require that if you are using only one stick of ram, it must go into "slot 0" or "Dimm-1". Typically the socket that must be used is blue and is closest to the CPU but this depends on the model.

Run UEFI diagnostics.

Make sure you have the latest UEFI diagnostics.

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

This can be installed from a USB flash drive if necessary.

Check to see if there is a hardware problem.

Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.

If a component fails during the UEFI test it is a hardware problem. Failures due to stress can be fixed by possibly downclocking the CPU and the memory.

Let me know if you need more help
