HP Pavilion HPE h9-1150t Phoenix CTO Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This desktop will not upgrade to Windows 11 because of its age. Looking at the documents available and researching the motherboard it seems like new motherboards of the same size, 9.6x9.6, should fit without issue. The power supply seems hefty enough too but I’m curious is anyone thinks I should put a newer one in it, not sure if there are power connections that may have been added after 10 years. I’ve come across statements the Corsair CX600 is the replacement I should use if it’s needed.

anyone have any feedback if they think a new motherboard is easily doable in this case. Of course I’ve got plenty of other things I’ll also need new to go along with it.

@avalanche96 -- it would be wise to proactively replace the current "antique" disk-drive by a new SSD, for increased reliability and faster performance.

In addition to the new motherboard, you will require a new processor that meets Microsoft's requirements for running Windows 11.

You might need to purchase a copy of Windows 11, since if your motherboard/CPU/RAM/network-card have changed, Microsoft will consider that your current computer is "retired", and the current license for Windows 10 will also "retire".

Your current RAM may not be compatible with your new motherboard.

So, all the above "upgrades" can severely dent your credit-card.  Maybe, you should purchase a new computer that has Windows 11 preloaded ?
