Can anyone tell me what motherboard this pavilion desktop uses? I haven't been able to find a detailed specs pdf of it.

From 3rd party: CPU-z
In windows "start" msinfo32
In Administrator Powershell
Get-WmiObject win32_baseboard | Format-List Product,Manufacturer,SerialNumber,Version
or with more detail than you probably want to read ...
Get-ComputerInfo
Or you can look at these pictures
Sometimes you can enter your serial number here
https://support.hp.com/us-en/computer
and possibly the motherboard will be listed.
I have a list of goodies like the above for Ubuntu but I am guessing you do windows.
