HP C6020 Wireless Keyboard Kit
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Keyboard and Mouse stopped working, actually all my USB ports stopped working unless I was in the F2 diagnostics program. I finally reset the computer so it wouldn't affect my documents and such. Now the computer is back up and working and the keyboard and mouse are working, but the Middle Click does nothing. I am able to scroll as usual, but I can no longer close tabs or open links in new tabs using the Center Click on the mouse wheel. I tried downloading Microsoft Intellipoint, but it says my mouse is not a microsoft mouse and won't let me change that field, it is grayed out. I plugged in a wired USB mouse to try it out and see if it worked and it did, but it will not work on this kit anymore and it is KILLING me. It is the more functional feature when it comes to keyboards and mice. Ive uninstalled it and installed it again and hoping it was just a glitch. I know it is a supported feature since it has been working for 2-3 years since I bought the computer. Please help, it is killing me at work. Thanks!!

I am using an HP All In One Desktop. It is Model# 23-q140t and Product# N0X22AV#ABA

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand that you are in need of support.

I would like to appreciate your time and efforts on trying all the possible troubleshooting steps and the different mouse is working fine and you have also tried uninstalling and installing the drivers.

It clearly says it's a hardware issue with the mouse.

I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.
If your product is out of warranty, then remember to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.

They might have multiple options to help you on this.
Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp
Step 2. Enter the product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

This is not the case, it is not a hardward issue. I have tried it with another computer and the middle click works just fine. It is only happening on this computer and only since I did the Computer Reset to fix the USB unresponsiveness. Any other ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you for replying.

As @Raj1788 is out of the office today, I'm replying to you. I truly appreciate your efforts and patience.

During my research, I found that a recent update may cause the USB ports to not work or have issues with USB devices connected. Therefore you may attempt the following steps to remove the update (if it has got downloaded again):

  • Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features
  • Click on Installed Updates on the left
  • Select windows update (KB4074588) and click uninstall
  • After uninstalling the update reboot the PC.

Hope this works out. Let me know. I'll be glad to assist you further.

Cheers! 🙂

Hello, I don't have the KB4074588 installed and I have the same identical issue: the mouse wheel click does not work any longer. Few days ago it was working just fine.
