Hello, 

I've had my HP ENVY Desktop for 10 months and have not run into this issue until recently. I have a composite USB keyboard and mouse, the mouse will consistently shut off after not being interacted with within 1 or 2 seconds. As you could guess, this is very irritating, it interferes every time I need to work or when playing any game. Before this, in the last week, the mouse light would be constantly blinking red. I've checked in Device Manager, but the driver is up to date.

I would very much appreciate assistance on this, if I need to resynchronize my devices, pointing me towards some helpful instruction would be fantastic.

@slimesoul , welcome to the forum.

 

The red light blinking constantly is telling you that the battery needs to be replaced.  There is access to the battery compartment on the bottom of the mouse.

It would be nice if manufacturers would standardize all of the peripherals.
