Hello, I have purchased an HP Desktop All-In-One set nearly two years ago I think. To this day, the mouse or keyboard never caused me a problem but today, I have discovered that the mouse doesn't work properly if I keep pressing the left key. Which is a problem because I have to use the feature to highlight parts of text documents.
However, when I hold the left key and try to slide the mouse across, the cursor just doesn't move visibly on the screen. It just ends up somewhere else other than its former location after I release the key. What can I possibly do to solve this problem?

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Are you using a wired or a wireless mouse?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
While I wait for the answers, I recommend you uninstall the mouse driver from device manager and then restart the computer and check.
Here is how it is done.
- Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
- Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.
NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello!
I am not exactly sure when and why this problem occurred mainly because my little sister uses this computer to play games or watch videos. She told me about the problem this week, I think. So I suppose the mouse was working fine the previous week.
The mouse is wireless. The same Bluetooth connection is used for both the keyboard and the mouse, and the keyboard is working fine.
I haven't made any hardware or software changes, though I might have downloaded some apps from online sources. I know I am guilty here, but I don't think any of them caused this problem since I have downloaded them almost a month ago since this problem occurred.
I only turned the mouse off then on and switched its batteries. Here goes my knowledge about computers and such.
Thank you for your reply and kind efforts to help me! 🙂

Thank you for responding,
It's great to have you back 😉
It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out,
I'm the Barachiel & I'm at your service.
In this case, i would recommend you to try using a wired usb mouse ( If you have one ) and check if it does the same. If yes, then it should be the driver issue. If it doesn't then we could try re-pairing the wireless mouse.
Awaiting your reply. 🙂
