Hi @Babu1990,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP desktop is not powering on, follow these steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Power Connections:
    • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the desktop and the wall outlet.
    • Try a different power outlet to rule out an outlet issue.
    • If there’s a power strip or surge protector, ensure it’s turned on and functioning properly.

  2. Examine the Power Button and LED Indicator:
    • Check if the power button is functioning or stuck.
    • Look for any LED light indicators on the desktop or motherboard that might give a clue.

  3. Inspect Internal Connections:
    • Safety First! Open the desktop case only if you’re comfortable, and always unplug the power cord before doing so.
    • Check that all internal cables and components, such as RAM and graphics card, are securely seated.
    • Inspect for any loose or disconnected cables, especially those connected to the power supply.

  4. Test the Power Supply:
    • Ensure the power supply unit (PSU) switch, located at the back of the desktop, is turned to the 'ON' position.
    • If possible, test the power supply with a known working PSU or use a PSU tester to confirm it’s functioning.

  5. Perform a System Reset:
    • Disconnect all peripherals and remove external devices.
    • Unplug the power cord and hold the power button down for about 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
    • Reconnect and attempt to power on the desktop again.

  6. Check for Overheating:
    • Ensure that all fans are clean and operational.
    • Clean any dust around vents, fans, and heat sinks.

  7. Remove CMOS Battery:
    • Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes and then reinstall it. This will reset the BIOS to its default settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
