Hi @ayanroy2004abc,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with the caps lock button on your laptop and I feel your pain. Let us work together to try and resolve this issue.

If your Caps Lock key is turning on and off automatically on your HP laptop, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart Your Laptop

  • A simple restart can fix temporary glitches.
  • Shut down your laptop completely, wait for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

2. Check for Stuck or Sticky Keys

  • Press the Caps Lock key multiple times to check if it's physically stuck.
  • Gently clean around the key using a soft brush or compressed air.

3. Check Keyboard Settings

  • Open Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center.
  • Click Make the keyboard easier to use.
  • Ensure "Turn on Sticky Keys" and "Turn on Filter Keys" are unchecked.

4. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Keyboard and run the troubleshooter.

5. Update Keyboard Drivers

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Keyboards, right-click your keyboard, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

6. Try an External Keyboard

  • Connect a USB or Bluetooth keyboard to check if the issue is with the built-in keyboard.
  • If the external keyboard works fine, the built-in keyboard may need repair or replacement.

7. Check for Malware or Viruses

  • Run a full scan using Windows Defender or any antivirus software to rule out malware interference.

I hope this helps.

If you have the serial number, you can share it here, and I might be able to guide you further!
