My memory usage is really high, it wasnt like this before and it was really sudden, i have 16gb of RAM, in task manager, i added up all the usages to the total of less than 5 gigs yet task manager is saying 90%+ of my memory is being used 15/16gb.

I understand that there is a high memory usage on your PC.

 

Common causes of slow system performance:
Not enough free disk space or disk errors.
Applications that require a lot of system resources.
Too many tasks running at the same time.
Nonessential graphic features.
Not enough memory.
Overheating due to intensive graphic applications or dust in vents.
Running multiple instances of anti-virus software.

 

Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

 

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant. 
  2. Check for updates. 
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

 

Please update the BIOS.
