HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 (4C803AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I bought a new hp laptop a month ago. And from the first day when I charge the battery the computer slows down a lot to the point that it becomes unusable. In the Omen application it shows that the CPU usage is at 100% but in the task manager it says that it is at 6%.
When this error occurs, unplugging the charger and plugging it back in temporarily fixes the problem. The use of the pc without connecting the charger is normal. Please help. 😞

@RuneinA,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Step one: make sure you are up to date with your Windows 11 updates and especially your HP drivers -go to: HP Notebook - 15s-fq0040nl Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support, and let HP check your drivers, specifically related to your battery/power management.

Step two: try HP's "Testing & Calibrating the battery" steps first and see if that makes any difference: HP Notebook PCs - Testing and calibrating the battery (Windows) | HP® Customer Support.

Step three: remove your laptop battery and run on AC charger power only. If after completion of step one and two your laptop performs as it should, replace your battery.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
