Run disk cleanup and specify that all restore points are to be deleted except the most recent.
That last part is done by selecting "clean up system files"
and then "more options" to do the shadow cleanup
If your laptop has a 64 bit CPU then you can do the free upgrade from 32bit to 64bitn windows and possibly add more memory. What is your Product ID and Model?

If you have a 32 bit cpu then cannot upgrade to windows 64 bit and you are limited to 4gb of memory.
How to tell if your system is 32 or 64 bit
what is your product Id? I cannot tell the type of CPU without it or the model name.
ID can be obtained form the HP tag
An SSD replacement for an HDD will speed the system up but not as fast as an M.2 SSD.
Possibly your system has a slot for m.2 but cannot tell without name or product ID
