If your Start bar is not appearing when you press the key or use the mouse, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Restart Windows Explorer:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
- In the Task Manager window, find and select Windows Explorer from the list of processes.
- Click on Restart in the bottom-right corner of the Task Manager window.
Check Taskbar Settings:
- Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar if it is visible, then select Taskbar settings.
- Ensure that the Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode is turned off.
Use Windows Key + T:
- Press Windows key + T to toggle through open tasks on the taskbar. This can sometimes make the taskbar visible if it is hidden.
Run System File Checker:
- Press Windows Key + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Allow the scan to finish and follow any prompts.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can sometimes cause display issues. Update your graphics drivers through Device Manager or download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Press Windows Key + I to open Settings, then go to Update & Security.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Run the Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings (Windows Key + I), then navigate to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters, then find and run the Windows Start Menu troubleshooter.
Create a New User Profile:
- Sometimes, user profile corruption can cause taskbar issues. Create a new user account and see if the issue persists.
- To create a new user, go to Settings (Windows Key + I), then Accounts > Family & other users, and click Add someone else to this PC.
Hope this helps!
