In that case, can you direct me to a website to buy a new BIOS chip? How much do they usually cost?

There is no available ROM file that would convert the BIOS to UEFI for your desktop PC's motherboard.

With that said, your PC will always have a legacy BIOS. Upgrading to UEFI is not a viable option.

There are many difference between a legacy BIOS and UEFI BIOS and devices, including processors, connected to the motherboard.

This issue is the dilemma that many of us as DIY PC builders ran into years ago. If memory serves, that was @2012 when Manufacturers and their motherboard engineers implemented the Universal Extensible Firmware Interface.

It complicated what we as enthusiasts and PC builders could use in our new builds. It made us have to scrutinize the specification that manufacturers provided. Not all video card makers even specified whether a card was legacy BIOS or UEFI at first.

OK then. Would you kindly recommend a motherboard that is:

Compatible with my chassis (Obviously)

Support a decent amount of RAM

Support this Graphics Card

Wifi built in would be nice

Decent amount of ports

Has an Intel processor socket

Most like my old motherboard (HP 1998)

That is quite the rabbit hole you are asking me to dive into in search of old new parts for your secondhand SFF desktop PC.

Finding a motherboard that will fit an older small form factor factory built PC is like searching for teeth for a chicken.

I suggest that you source a different PC.

This time make a comparative list of candidate PCs and ensure that the features that you need are present.

I would use Excel for that.

Because of your last response, I have considered just buying and installing a new BIOS chip for my motherboard, UEFI compatible. Will this pose any problems?

Your original motherboard will never be UEFI compatible no matter what you do to it.

The problem will be that you will waste your time and money without a positive result for your effort.

You are not doing this based on my response since I already advised you that it will not work.

If you do it, you are on your own.

Correct.

NVIDIA designs refence video cards and sells licenses to the reference design to manufacturing companies like PNY.

PNY puts the NVIDIA label with model specific alphanumeric information on the card as a requirement of the license.

That is how it has always worked with AMD and NVIDIA.

Anyone can be wrong, but based on the information you provided me with I believe I was correct.
