HP Pavilion 590-a0001nl

my Pavilion 590-a0001nl (Windows 10, 64-bit) has a motherboard:

HP name: KensingtonP - SSID: 843E.
And one 1TB HDD SATA.

Could I install a NVME SSD on M.2 socket, 2280 type and migrate the OS from the HDD?

Yes, you can install a NVME SSD on your HP Pavilion 590-a0001nl using the M.2 socket designed for SSD. The motherboard, KensingtonP with SSID: 843E, includes one M.2 socket for SSD, specifically of the 2280 type form factor.

Compatible NVME SSD Specifications

  • Form Factor: M.2 2280 type
  • Interface: NVME

Steps to Install and Migrate OS

Purchase a compatible NVME SSD:

  • Ensure the SSD is of M.2 2280 type form factor.

Prepare your existing HDD:

  • Backup your data before starting the migration process.

Install the NVME SSD:

  • Open your desktop case.
  • Locate the M.2 socket on the KensingtonP motherboard.
  • Insert the NVME SSD into the M.2 socket and secure it with the provided screw.

Migrate the OS:

  • You can use software like cloning tools (e.g., Clonezilla, Acronis True Image) to clone your operating system from the HDD to the new NVME SSD.
  • Follow the software instructions on how to clone the drive efficiently.

Set the NVME SSD as the boot drive:

  • Access the BIOS settings during startup (usually by pressing F10, DEL, or ESC).
  • Change the boot order to prioritize the NVME SSD.

Verify the migration:

  • Boot your system using the NVME SSD and check if all files and settings have been correctly migrated.
