I recently installed a NVME boot drive, it takes 20 seconds on the splash screen.
Tried two different samsung nvme drives, both report gen 3x1, boot times takes 20 seconds on the splash screen.
I have a 800 g1 with a ACHI pcie that takes 3 seconds as do my other computers.
I have tried disconnecting the hard disk drive and new install of OS.
Why is it only pciex1 and why so slow?

I believe you may be comparing apples and oranges.
Your PCs have different motherboards, BIOSes and compatibilities, so comparing them and expecting that one SSD type fits all is no going to work.

From what I have seen I am surprised that an NVMe type M.2 SSD was recognized by the BIOS. Guaranteed compatible M.2 SSD products for your PC are 3D NAND SATA3 types.

I have a 800 g1 mini with a pcie sm951 ACHI with the same bios and it also loads in 3 seconds from the splash screen.
The 24 F0036a is a 2018 model and I'd expect the boot would be faster. I also don't understand why oem vendors can't list full specs such as the bus speed.
I think I'll sell it.
