Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I recently bought an HP Pavillion Desktop PC. It's got a built in M.2 harddrive on the motherboard.

I put a WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD on a PCIe X1 adapter and installed it.

When I start the computer, the SSD doesn't show up either in the computer management or in BIOS.

Does anyone have any idea where the problem might lie?

Another problem is that I can't find ANY of the working harddrives in BIOS. Is this normal for HP products? Because I'm used to finding the harddrives and where they are connected somewhere in the BIOS, but I cannot find anything of the sort here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

Bios storage device options should be found in the BIOS Storage menu.

NVME drives installed in a PCIe adapter requires a PCIe x4 adapter and an open PCIe x4 or greater slot on the motherboard.

A PCIe x1 slot will not work, or if it does work, it will run at about a quarter of the bandwidth. A PCIe x16 slot using an x4 PCIe adapter will work if you are using onboard graphics and you have an open x16 slot.
