Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to install an NVMe SSD rather than an mSATA SSD.  Do I have an M2 slot? I think not but please confirm.  Recommended adapter if no M2?

FWIW have 32g RAM and 8g on nVidia card.  Motherboard known by HP as Kaili, and is MSI product MS-7826.

Thanks for any help.

@ncrangerider , welcome to the forum.

Your motherboard does not have a M.2 socket.  Look at the section titled "Expansion Slots" in the link that I provided.

Here is a PCI Express x1 adapter card that should work for you.  StarTech makes excellent products.  If you have questions about their adapter you can contact their Tech Support using Chat Live here.  I have used this option many times in the past.  They are always very helpful.

Thanks Old geekster, definitely helps to know of an adapter that someone has used.  Any advantage to using any particular type PCIe slot?

Nevermind last question.  Thanks for tip on StarTech; chat session with them was excellent.  Have ordered part.

New and last question:  Can I boot from this setup?  I hear some motherboards have a problem booting from a PCIe.

A:  I am glad that you asked before buying the adapter.  I have been researching the subject and it appears that a PCIe slot will work if it is at least x4.  Therefore, it appears that your x1 slots won't be powerful enough for that purpose.  I will be honest I had forgotten that this could be a problem.  You may want to check with StarTech to see if they have an adapter the will solve your problem.
