I need to select the right 1 TB SSD to upgrade the HP All-in-One 22-c00083w. I have been told that I need a SATA adapter, and to attach it at the HDD SATA connector, but I need an adapter to fit the SATA adapter from the SSD connector. There is also an SSD slot built into the motherboard, but I think that is nor extra storage, not for the primary SSD drive. Without the documentation available since it is out of warranty, I have no information on what HP SSD to purchase, nor what adapter I will need to attach it to the SATA HDD legacy drive interface. Looking for a recommendation on what SSD to purchase to install at the legacy HDD SATA connector.

Hi @Don_Ensley
Welcome back.
Your PC, specs at this HP Site, ships with a 1 TB SATA platter HDD (very slow).
Your PC's MB also has an available M.2 socket available for a NVME SSD. The NVME drive can be used to install an operating system.
Any NVME SSD should work with the MB. Nothing is certain in life but the BIOS should see any M.2 NVME you install in the MB.
So, you can upgrade the platter HDD to a 2.5 inch SATA SSD or install a M.2 NVME drive. You can run Windows on either drive.

Thank you for your informative and timely response. I have decided to upgrade my RAM from 4 to 16 GB and to upgrade from 1 TB HDD to a 1 TB SSD. I am sure the improved performance will be well worth the effort.
I consider this matter closed.
