I have an HP 8300 Small Form Factor Desktop PC (i7, 3.4GHz, 2TB HDD, 16GB, UPC: 61119154447, here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03387773#AbT2) and need to get a separate video card for it that will physically fit & work in it and raise the maximum video display resolution up to at least 4K (3860x2160).
What kind of video card can I get that will work?
Thanks in advance.

@prestonw, welcome back to the forum.
The first problem that you will face is the lack of power. The power supply unit (PSU) in the computer is only 240W. This is not nearly enough to support the type of video card that you need. Also, I am not certain that your motherboard has UEFI. HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012. All newer cards that would support the resolution that you need require UEFI in the motherboard.
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the computer. In Chapter 4, Page 42, Misc boards, there is a list of compatible video cards.
Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for replying to my post!
I *think* I may have found one or two video cards that might work. But I wanted to check with you to see what you think.
This card here will run on the PC's 240w PSU (reportedly even as low as 220w). The only drawback that I can see is that in 4K mode the refresh rate drops to (I believe it said) 24. This PC will only be used for email and web browsing, so no games will be played on it. Still, I really don't know if a 24 refresh rate would have any noticeable flickering and/or cause any eye strain or not (do you think a 24 refresh rate would?):

There’s also this card. This is just one card of many examples I’ve seen that would run in it so long as the PSU was replaced and it had a minimum 300w PSU rather than the 240w one in there now:
I have no idea how much it would cost to replace the PSU in this PC or if it's even possible to put a higher-wattage one inside. But assuming I wanted to investigate that, where would I go to look for a beefier PSU?
Also, FWIW, the PC had Windows 10 installed in it before it was sold to me.
Thanks!

You are very welcome. Thank you for the additional information, @prestonw.
The first thing that you should check is to see if your motherboard has UEFI. You would check in the BIOS. If it is not UEFI, the cards in your links will not work. They all require UEFI.
I suggest contacting the manufacturer's Tech Support to see what they have to say. I don't want to recommend a video card that won't work and has to be returned. You pay for the shipping back to the vendor.
