@WillyP2 , welcome to the Community.

What is the Product Number of the computer? I need this information to review the specifications of it. Please don't furnish the Serial # or other personal information. You can find the Product Number at the bottom of the page when you open HP Support Assistant.

Before you furnish the information that I requested, check the connector for the fan to assure that it is fully connected.  If it is loose it could cause the problem.

You are welcome, @WillyP2!

I searched HP PartSurfer for the Part Number for the CPU fan, but there is none listed; only the case fan.  I suggest looking at the fan to get the PN.  Then, you can search the Internet for one.  Your best option will be ebay or Amazon.
