Need help with choosing video card

First off, I'm not that tech savvy. I have a Windows Vista, HP Pavilion a6412p PC and need help on choosing a video card, I think? I need it for an hdmi port, because I don't have a computer monitor(don't have one) I use my tv, since its used as my media device. I used to vga to hdmi adapter, but I think I needed a monitor.

So, your disk-drive is almost 10 years old.

I would not drive on automobile tires that are that old -- the risk of a "blow-out" is too high.

Also, Microsoft terminated all support for Windows Vista in mid-April 2017.

So, it's time for you to consider replacing the whole computer, not just the video-card, and the disk-drive.

You can purchase a reconditioned PC for US $200, and it will include Windows 10, and will run faster than your current computer.

There is little risk to a "blow out".  Although your PC is quite old, you should be able to locate a legacy graphics card for less than $60.

If you do have an exposure it would be software security related.  Of course, this would not be an issue if your PC is not used on the internet or if unknown media is not inserted into your PC.

I recommend the AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card which has a HDMI out port.

This is a low cost, low power graphics card (draws less than 30W), that should work just fine with your PC.

It was the optional graphics card offered in the HP 8200 Elite small form factor business desktop PC, which has a 240W power supply.

As of now I am low on funds, due to the holidays, so this is more of a waiting for time to get more money.
